This project utilized C-CAP protocol, incorporating field point observations, transect data, and underwater videography. The data was developed using analytical photogrammetry and classified according to the System for Classification of Habitats in Estuarine and Marine Environments. Seagrass beds were mapped by district as an indicator of overall water quality. The expansion or retraction of submerged aquatic vegetation in the lagoon indicates the effectiveness of nonpoint pollution management strategies. The layers available within the data download include biotic, geoform, and substrate. Field verification with GPS positional control was accomplished in 1998. Horizontal Positional Accuracy Spatial data meets national map accuracy standards for fixed features. Deeper water edges of SAV habitat were more difficult to spatially verify in the field and may show slightly higher variation. Completeness Report Data is complete. All interpretable SAV habitat was mapped. Conceptual Consistency These data are logically consistent Ground control points and camera calibration data were used to generate stereo models in an SD3000 analytical stereoplotter. This allowed interpretation of habitat and delineation of SAV directly into a corrected digital reference system. The data were exported as a line coverage for further editing and attribution in an ESRI Arc and ArcView environment. The benthic data is classified according to the System for Classification of Habitats in Estuarine and Marine Environments (SCHEME). 1999-06-01T00:00:00 Aerial photography was collected according to the mission and environmental specifications of the C-CAP protocol. The protocol provides guidance on optimal water, weather, and seasonal conditions for successful SAV mapping. The film was inspected for quality and duplicated to diapositive media to support analytical photogrammetric compilation. 1996-08-31T00:00:00 The data were converted from a single ESRI polygon data set classified according to the System for Classifying Habitats in Estuarine and Marine Environments (SCHEME) to the Coastal and Marine Ecological Classification Standard (CMECS) 2012 format. This produced separate biotic, geoform, and substrate feature layers from the original input benthic habitat dataset. Each of the three feature layers contain respective CMECS biotic, geoform, and substrate component attributes where an "Equal" or "Nearly Equal" SCHEME value was present in the original data. Polygons for which no biotic, geoform, or substrate information was present have been removed.
