Some samples are subsequently verified in the laboratory. Data are entered into the database after all verification. CUFES Continuous Underway Fish-Egg Sampler The Continuous, Underway Fish Egg Sampler, known as CUFES, is an instrument used to collect pelagic fish eggs while the ship moving. It consists of a submersible pump mounted on the hull at 3-m depth and a concentrator that retains fish eggs and similar sized particles.
