These data are part of a long term ecosystem project centered on the South Shetland Islands off the Antarctic Peninsula, Antarctica. Funding for this project was from the NMFS AMLR Program. Data were collected from land and ship based platforms. At-sea distribution and density of marine mammals and seabirds. Seabird and marine mammal observations were collected from research vessels during transits between stations, to and from port of calls, etc. The primary objective was to map the density and distribution of seabirds and mammals at sea during the AMLR surveys.
