Electronic data corresponding to samples are obtained from originator of the samples. The data are formatted to uniform codes, based on the NMFS TIP system codes, and uploaded to Access data base file. The data recorded on the sample containers is verified with electronic data. If samples match, the data is recieved into the database. If there are discrepancies, the port agent is notified and data are corrected. If the sample data cannot be rectified, then the physical sample cannot be used.
