Handling methods may vary between fishing crews and vessels and may result in variability in detection, especially for discarded catch. In addition, video review speed and reviewer attention or experience may bias the detection and/or identification of retained or discarded catch.  Comparability Species detections and identifications are comparable to fisheries observer data for retained catch. However, EM currently underreports discarded catch compared to fisheries observer data.
