Each area has several survey transects from the shallows seaward. The project was lead by Dr. Richard Brock of the University of Hawaii Sea Grant College Program with sponsorship from the Monitoring Section of the State of Hawaii, Department of Health, Clean Water Branch. Well-established instruments and methodologies were used. Most of the data were during 2001-2005, however, some areas have data back to 1989 and several to the mid 1990s. Transects were mostly repeated quarterly to semi-annually. Data provided in spreadsheet format. The data were collected for several special projects that needed water quality data.
