This product includes Northern Hemisphere and Southern Hemisphere grids, each extending poleward from 65 degrees. Tropospheric winds are measured by tracking the motion of cloud features in the overlapping region of three successive orbits. A triplet of images is used to facilitate consistency checking and quality control. Wind products include wind speed, direction, and height at high latitudes. This daily product is produced by the NOAA Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS) and distributed by the Comprehensive Large Array-Data Stewardship System (CLASS) in the NetCDF-4 file format with metadata attributes included.
