These channels map closely to the Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) Mission Microwave Imager (GMI) channel set. The MWI also utilizes 3rd and 4th Stokes sensitivity to wind direction on the 10, 18, and 37 GHz bands to measure Ocean Surface Vector Winds. For the 37 GHz v- and h-pol channels, both analogue and digital outputs are available. The MWI produces the 3rd and 4th Stokes polarimetric channels by digitally sampling and cross-correlating v-pol and h-pol amplitude signals. A Temperature Data Record (TDR) consists of geolocated antenna temperatures radiometrically corrected and calibrated in temperature units at full instrument resolution as acquired. The TDR includes all relevant calibration data and ephemeris data to revert to RDR counts. The Weather System Follow-on Microwave (WSF-M) Microwave Imager (MWI), TDR provides variables and associated metadata across three main categories: Navigation/Time; Calibration; and Observed data. The Navigation/Time data include spacecraft ephemeris and instrument scanning and timing, geometric angles/locations and associated modeled vectors. Calibration data includes raw and averaged counts, temperature and brightness temperatures, calibration parameters, measurement biases and corrections and quality flags. The Observed/Geophysical data include frequencies and polarization, Earth/measurement locations, observed parameters, solar/lunar/magnetic, Ionosphere and Faraday Rotation data, and ancillary/quality data.
