Multi-sensor QPEs from various stages of the operational processes have been made available to end-users; Stage IV is a term used to describe the final stage of rainfall processing, the nationwide mosaicking of manually edited, regional Stage III or MPE products. This mosaicking has been performed by the NWS Office of Climate, Weather and Water Services and National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) since 2002. To provide Stage IV, national multi-sensor precipitation mosaic products for operational and analysis purposes.
