The campaign, the U.S. complement to the European field campaign called EUREC4A, was aimed at better understanding cloud and air-sea interaction processes. ATOMIC included measurements from a NOAA WP-3D Orion "Hurricane Hunter" aircraft, NOAA Ship Ronald H. Brown, and unpiloted vehicles launched from Barbados and from NOAA Ship Ronald H. Brown.
