The study area includes the watersheds and water bodies of eastern New Jersey, the Hudson River north to Troy, and southern Long Island. The mapped areas are divided into a series of 35 significant habitat complexes (34 as polygon data, one as point data), each stored as a separate GIS data layer. This metadata document serves all 35 individual data pieces. These data were designed to be used at a scale of 1:100,000 although many of the original map materials were of a higher resolution.
