abstract:  EX1206 was added and is now the final cruise of the 2012 season for Okeanos Explorer (EX). It will be primarily focused on further supplementing Northeast canyon and continental shelf mapping efforts carried out on EX cruises EX1106, EX1201, EX1204, and during 2011-2012 by NOAA ships Nancy Foster, Henry B. Bigelow, and Ferdinand R. Hassler. Multibeam and singlebeam survey, sub-bottom profiles, and CTD/XBT casts will be performed during the mission.
purpose:  To transit in and out of Davisville, Rhode Island to areas around Cape Hatteras and the U.S. - Canadian Territorial Boundary to supplement mapping expeditions associated with the Atlantic Canyons Undersea Mapping Expedition (ACUMEN) 2012.

description:  The EM 304 consists of a new state-of-the-art electronics and separate transmit and receive transducers in a Mills Cross configuration. It utilizes the same field-proven transducers as the EM 302, making it easy to upgrade. Care has been taken to design a highly, modular and flexible solution with compact electronics for easier and faster installation. Due to a flexible transducer design, the system can be tailored to almost any required size. The largest standard size, 0.5 x 0.5 degrees, gives the ultimate system performance in terms of resolution and range, while a smaller 4 x 4 degrees solution can be installed on any vessel of opportunity

description:  The Wind Monitor MA is an accurate and reliable wind sensor specifically designed for the rigors of the marine environment. The wind speed sensor is a four blade helicoid propeller. Unique transducer produces a pulse signal without electrical contacts or slip rings. The wind direction sensor is a durable molded vane. Vane angle is sensed by a precision potentiometer housed in a sealed chamber. All materials are carefully selected for corrosion resistance and maximum durability in the harsh marine environment. Ceramic bearings are used throughout. The instrument mounts on standard 1 inch pipe. Separate signal conditioning circuits are available to provide voltage or current signals when needed. Each is supplied in a weatherproof junction box with mounting hardware.

description:  The RESON SVP 70 sound velocity probe is developed for fixed-mount installation on surface ships, outboard rigs, submarines, AUVs, ROVs and other self-propelled platforms. The SVP 70 uses the latest electronic technology combined with an innovative mechanical design to yield a compact, robust, yet very flexible product. The SVP 70 uses a direct path echosounding technique that instantly compensates for temperature and pressure with internal sensors. The SVP 70 comes in a water resistant case including brackets for mounting, a 3m accessory cable, bolts, and a user manual with system description. Additional adaptor kits and fairing accessories are available.

description:  For over twenty years, Teledyne RD Instruments has been the preeminent supplier of Acoustic Doppler Current Profiling (ADCP) instrumentation for open ocean applications. Teledyne RDI's vessel-mounted Ocean Surveyor family of ADCPs continues to raise the bar, collecting detailed maps of the distribution of water currents and suspended materials through the water column and along the ship's path - at depths and resolutions previously considered unattainable. In real time, the ADCP is also used to aid in situ decision-making, to adapt field operations, and to understand current regime characteristics.

description:  The WetLabs ECO FLNTU is a dual-wavelength, single-angle sensor for simultaneously determining both chlorophyll fluorescence and turbidity. It detects light scattered by particles suspended in water, generating an output voltage proportional to turbidity or suspended solids. Scaling factors are used to convert the voltage readings to values representing chlorophyll concentration and turbidity expressed in Nephelometric Turbidity Units (NTUs).
