Occurrence of Lane Snapper (Lutjanus synagris) from SEAMAP Fishery-Independent Resource Surveys
browse graphic Fisheries-independent catch and effort data from Southeast Area Monitoring and Assessment Program (SEAMAP) Summer and Fall Groundfish Surveys (from 1987 to 2018) and Reef Fish Surveys (from 1995 to 2017) are used to map the occurrence of lane snapper (Lutjanus synagris) in the northern Gulf of Mexico. The final summary is represented as a point layer. The layer attributes include the longitude (LON) and latitude (LAT) of each station, the presence or absence (OCCURRENCE) of the species and the survey (SURVEY) during which it was taken. Juvenile, and some adult lane snapper are caught during SEAMAP Summer and Fall Shrimp/Groundfish trawl surveys. Adult lane snapper are primarily observed/taken during SEAMAP Reef Fish surveys.
