Occurrence of Gag Grouper (Mycteroperca microlepis) from SEAMAP and NMFS SEFSC Fishery-Independent Resource Surveys
browse graphic Fisheries-independent catch and effort data from Southeast Area Monitoring and Assessment Program (SEAMAP) Reef Fish Surveys (from 1995 to 2017) and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) Southeast Fisheries Science Center (SEFSC) Bottom Longline Surveys (from 2001 to 2018) are used to map the occurrence of gag grouper (Mycteroperca microlepis) in the northern Gulf of Mexico. The final summary is represented as a point layer. The layer attributes include the longitude (LON) and latitude (LAT) of each station, the presence or absence (OCCURRENCE) of the species and the survey (SURVEY) during which it was taken. The surveys encounter primarily adult fish, but may represent some juvenile fish as well.
