Important deep water system features included with the EM 2040 are dual swath per ping (EM2040D) to allow a doubling of survey speed, FM chirp to achieve a much longer range capability, complete roll, pitch and yaw stabilization, and nearfield focusing both on transmit and receive. The EM 2040 is modular, allowing the user to tailor the beamwidths to the operational requirements, 0.4 by 0.7 and 0.7 by 0.7 degrees. The operating bandwidth available on the EM 2040 is unprecedented, from 200 to 400 kHz, which is a full octave, and this is achieved with the standard transducers. The operator can thus choose the best operating frequency for the application. The EM 2040 is well suited for surveys meeting the IHO-S44 special order. The standard depth rating of the EM 2040 subsea parts is 6000 meters. The system is ideal for operation on subsea vehicles such as ROVs or AUVs. The transmit transducer has an angular coverage of 200 degrees (ñ100 degrees) as standard, allowing a coverage of 5.5 times water depth when matched with a single receive transducer. Adding a second receive transducer allows surveying to the water surface or up to 10 times water depth on flat bottoms. operation: (MI_Operation) identifier: (MD_Identifier) code: CV14_02_EM2040 status: (MD_ProgressCode) completed parentOperation: (inapplicable) platform: (MI_Platform) citation: (CI_Citation) title: R/V Celtic Voyager date: (inapplicable) identifier: (MD_Identifier) code: Celtic Voyager description: The RV Celtic Voyager has wet, dry and chemical laboratories, which are permanently fitted with standard scientific equipment and can accommodate 6 - 8 scientists with a maximum endurance of 14 days. The vessel is manned by a very experienced crew who are highly skilled with the handling and deployment of scientific equipment. The RV Celtic Voyager facilitates the collection of fisheries, geophysical, oceanographic and environmental data and provides practical training for the next generation of marine scientists. This research is of crucial national importance, to ensure the development of Ireland's vast natural resource in a sustainable manner. sponsor: (CI_ResponsibleParty) organisationName: Marine Institute contactInfo: (CI_Contact) phone: (CI_Telephone) voice: +353 91 387 200 address: (CI_Address) deliveryPoint: Rinville city: Oranmore administrativeArea: Co. It is very well suited for detailed seafloor mapping and inspection with water depths from less than 1 meter up to typically 200 meters in cold oceanic conditions. Maximum depth capability is strongly dependant on water temperature and salinity - up to 300 meters is possible under favorable conditions. Due to its electronic pitch compensation system and roll stabilized beams, the system performance is stable also in foul weather conditions. The EM 3002 system uses frequencies in the 300 kHz band. This is an ideal frequency for shallow water applications, as the high frequency ensures narrow beams with small physical dimensions. At the same time, 300 kHz secures a high maximum range capability and robustness under conditions with high contents of particles in the water. EM 3002 uses a powerful sonar processor unit in combination with 1 or 2 compact sonar heads. The high computing power of the EM 3002 sonar processor makes it possible to apply sophisticated and exact signal processing algorithms for beamforming, beam stabilisation, and bottom detection. In High Density processing mode the system has close to uniform acoustic footprints and resolution over the whole swath width, and therefore a much improved capability to detect objects and other details on the bottom. EM 3002 will in addition to bathymetric soundings, produce an acoustic image of the seabed. System options include dual sonar heads (EM 3002D), water column data logging, and an extended transducer depth rating of 1500 m for underwater vehicles. The EM 3000 multibeam system was first produced in 2004 and is being phased out in 2013. Its replacement is the EM 2040. instrument: (MI_Instrument) citation: (CI_Citation) title: Sea-Bird Electronics 911plus CTD date: (unknown) identifier: (MD_Identifier) code: SBE 911plus CTD citedResponsibleParty: (CI_ResponsibleParty) organisationName: Sea-Bird Electronics, Inc. contactInfo: (CI_Contact) phone: (CI_Telephone) voice: 425-643-9866 facsimile: 425-643-9954 address: (CI_Address) deliveryPoint: 13431 NE 20th Street city: Bellevue administrativeArea: WA postalCode: 98005 country: USA electronicMailAddress: seabird@seabird.com onlineResource: (CI_OnlineResource) linkage: https://www.ncei.noaa.gov/waf/OER-Media/EXCTD/EX_CTD_Junction_Connector_Configuration_and_Voltage_Channel_Setup-2020_Field_Season-OER_%20NCEI_Version.pdf name: SBE 911plus CTD description: SBE 911plus CTD information function: (CI_OnLineFunctionCode) information role: (CI_RoleCode) resourceProvider identifier: (MD_Identifier) code: SBE 911plus CTD type: Conductivity, Temperature description: The 911plus, consisting of the 9plus underwater CTD and 11plus V2 Deck Unit, is a premium real-time CTD accurate to the highest international standards.
