Orbit: Sun-synchronous orbit 09.30 mean local solar time (Equator crossing, descending node), morning satellite. Mission Duration: Expected to be operational for 4.5 to 5 years operational. The NOAA            satellites are deployed in &quot;afternoon&quot; orbits and MetOp will take up service in a &quot;morning&quot; orbit. NOAA and EUMETSAT will operate and control their respective polar-orbiting satellites and ground segments.            However, data collected by all the satellites will be shared and exchanged between NOAA and EUMETSAT.
