Salinity and sound velocity can also be computed. Communication with the SBE 45 is over an internal, 3-wire, RS-232C link, providing real-time data transmission. An optional Interface Box provides power, a NMEA 0183 port for appending navigation information from a NMEA navigation device to the data stream, and an RS-232 port for appending SBE 38 remote temperature sensor output. </gco:CharacterString> </gmi:description> </gmi:MI_Instrument>
