Instruments: AVHRR/2, TOVS (HIRS/2, MSU, SSU) and SEM. Operational Dates: May 14, 1991 to December 14, 1998. Operational Status: Decommissioned on May 23, 2007. NOAA-12 was placed in a near circular, (450nm) polar orbit. It was the fifth operational satellite in the Advanced TIROS-N series. The spacecraft was rectangular shaped (166" long by 74" high) and powered by a 191" by 94" solar array.
