description:   The EM 950 multibeam echo sounder is rated for seabed mapping in depths ranging from 3 meters to 400 meters. The sonar system frequency is 95 kHz and uses up to 120 total beams. The measurement sector is 150 degrees, 140 degrees, or 128 degrees roll stabilized depending on depth and coverage, corresponding to a swath width of up to 7.4 times the water depth. For each ping, 60 roll-stabilized receiver beams are formed with a spacing of 2.5 degrees or equidistant horizontally. The EM 950 multibeam system was in production from 1993 to 1998 and was replaced with the EM 1002.
